"Windows 10: An oldie, but a goodie"
"A farewell to Windows 10: did it really need to die now?"
As of Oct 14, 2025, Windows 10 reaches it’s end of life support, leaving millions of computers with one of three choices:
- Update to Windows 11, if your computer meets the criteria, which leaves users to deal with ads, spyware and Copilot monitoring
- Stay on Windows 10 and pay Microsoft to keep receiving updates for a little while longer
- Replace your Operational System with a better alternative (at the cost of software compatibility)
Does it really need to wither like this? While it’s not with it’s flaws, it’s still a perfectly usable OS, with a decent enough adoption rate and that it wasn’t meant to be replaced if you believed the promises of 10 years ago.
💭 Change is good, but not every change is for the better: keeping options available with people still using them is important. Does tech really need to take choice away for the sake of infinite growth now when it can just be, I dunno, sustainable long-term with users in mind?
